We really enjoyed puttering around the house, marvelling at the beautifully made furniture, the sumptuous fabrics, pictures, china wear, children’s furniture, hidden cupboards, the incredible kitchen as well as livery for staff. If you’re a Gosford Park person then you’ll appreciate the downstairs. Don’t miss the garden and impressive coach house (snuggly and warm in the winter). Would love to return and see the gardens in the summer.

I went there on my lunch break and I had very little time to see the whole museum. I am definitely going back though. The house has remained largely intact since its first resident, painter Ferdinand Bol, and it is a museum of paintings, furniture and architecture. I will definitely be coming back with more time. Besides being a jewel in itself, it is also located in an amazing area of Amsterdam.
