We didn’t go inside because, firstly, more than half of it is currently under renovation, and secondly, it simply wasn’t worth paying €30 to see only a small part of it and then walk around in the blazing sun. You can see everything that really matters from the outside, so there’s no need to go in just for that. It’s also possible to walk all the way around it from the outside. Admittedly, it’s a fairly long walk, but the views are beautiful and well worth it.

The Temple of Olympian Zeus is an impressive historical site and definitely worth seeing while visiting Athens. Its massive columns give a real sense of the scale and grandeur of ancient Greek architecture. However, during our visit, the temple was under restoration, so parts of the site were covered with scaffolding and the view was not as open as expected. Even so, it remains an important and beautiful landmark, especially because of its location near the Acropolis and other major attractions.
