★★★★★3 months agoVery interesting and fascinating museum history on Mary Shelley. My husband and son originally were not interested but were happy they went afterward. There were 4 floors to the museum dedicated to the life of MS and her notable prophetic literary contributions. Highly recommend. There is a haunted area in the basement for fun and all I will say is WHY NOT🫣🤣 - it was shock fright more than anything else (NO GORE) and very fun - it made me scream a couple times all in fun.

★★★★★Edited 5 months agoVisited today, easy to find. Carpark was a 5 min walk away. We had an amazing time. Learned a lot. The museum is a good mix of written information and visual treats. An adult ticket is around £16 online or £17 on the door, we'd recommend buying in advance because we booked for 11am and there were already people waiting outside for the venue to open. Staff were very friendly, the museum is well spaced out and it's themes are organsied well. There's the opportunity on the top floor to watch the 1910 version of Frankenstein in full which we enjoyed. The basement is dedicated to a creepy horror style walk through. I opted out of this because I got too creeped out after going down the stairs so I bailed. But given I could hear my partner screaming, I can only assume it is indeed quite scary and worth it for big horror/jump scare fans! Small gift shop at reception with small trinkets in varying price, 2 toilets upstairs and downstairs. Thank you for having us! Great place to visit.
