★★★★★2 months agoBeautiful National Trust spot. Recommended to get the bus all the way up the hill, to where the entrance is, rather than driving, as there is no parking except on Sundays nearby. Once you’re there, guides help you to the best options, especially with strollers. We really enjoyed walking the loop and seeing the beauty of the Gardens at the slope. There is a lovely grassy area with shade near the café at the bottom, where we could enjoy a picnic with our kids. Highly recommended.

During our walk, we even got to see ducks and ducklings around the property, which made the experience even more special. It is definitely worth the visit. One thing to keep in mind: we sat at the bottom of the hill near the Palladian Bridge, and later that day I discovered a tick had attached itself. I would recommend avoiding sitting directly in the grass and bringing bug spray, just to be safe.
