★★★★★a month agoOne of the most beautiful archaeological museums I’ve ever visited—and I’ve seen half the world. Being able to look death in the eye is an unforgettable experience; the extensive collection of Roman-era pottery is impressive. The Egyptian section is modest, yet charming and interesting.

★★★★★3 months ago6 euro and 5 hours well spent. The museum has a fantastic collection, with the earliest artefacts dating back up to 800.000 years. I love that the gallery with grave goods is painted to look like an Etruscan tomb - a wonderful little touch. The lapidarium is also fantastic. Loved the free concert as well. The only criticism I have is that the text accompanying the exhibitions can get very boring, I am an archaeologist and was regularly zoning out when reading because it's a lot of dry text about cultures.
