The funicular railway is a bus journey away from central Dresden. However, if you have the time, it is well worth a visit. The views from the top are well worth the effort. We visited in December so stopping at the bottom to drink tea and warm up made perfect sense.

A very unique cable car. If you buy a day ticket on the Dresden transport network it is a reduced fare to go up (€3.50 return per person instead of €6). Nice little museum and cafe at the top and lovely views over Dresden.
