★★★★★a month agoThe most famous and largest Christmas market in Dresden. Incredible festive atmosphere, plenty of great food and drinks, and definitely well worth a visit!

★★★★★8 months agoVisiting Altmarkt during Christmas time was a dream come true! This is where the world-famous Striezelmarkt (Germany's oldest Christmas market) is located, and the atmosphere is absolutely magical. The square transforms into a winter wonderland with the massive Christmas pyramid and the beautiful Ferris wheel lighting up the night. I highly recommend trying the authentic Dresdner Stollen and a mug of Glühwein while you walk through the rows of traditional wooden stalls. From the handmade crafts from the Ore Mountains to the delicious smell of toasted almonds, it’s an unforgettable holiday experience. If you are in Dresden in December, this is the #1 place you have to see!
