Beautiful, medieval castle. It’s within a walking distance from Edinburgh centre (recommend going through Craigsmillar Castle Park, it’s nice and peaceful). There are a lot of corridors, stairs, chambers and towers in the castle you can wander through so you can truly feel like a medieval royal. There are also some games inside for kids (but not only) and you can make there your own paper crown. After visiting the castle you can rest outside in the beautiful yard. The staff was very nice and helpful. It’s a must see during stay in Edinburgh. Just have in mind there is a lot of walking there and going up and down the stairs.

One of the many beautiful castles you can explore in beautiful Scotland. We loved the beautiful views from the upper walls, the green grass all around, and all the different places to explore. Some of the rooms have little description plaques on the walls. We walked the stairways, and explored every room in the castle. It was very peaceful and serene. We definitely recommend Craigmillar Castle for any travelers in the Edinburgh area.
