The Museum on the Mound is a small but very interesting museum in the heart of Edinburgh. Best of all, it's free to visit. The exhibits tell the story of money, banking, and finance in Scotland in an engaging and easy-to-understand way. Although it doesn’t take long to explore, it offers some fascinating insights into Scottish history and the development of its financial system. Definitely worth a quick stop if you’re in the area.

Great overview of the history of banking in Scotland. You can also see £1 million in £20 notes. The museum is easily found, it is very well presented and the entrance is free. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend to visit.
