I have been here at least ten times to various and regularly changing exhibitions featuring multiple German as well as internationally know artists. The previous exhibition was about Loriot which was amazing and multimedia (incl. books and a compilation of short movies). It is, however, mostly recommended for German speaking visitors as the humor only comes along if you understand the basics. Entrance fee is 8€/4€ and they feature free WiFi, lockers for rent and toilets which is nice.

This is a really cool and cozy museum. Knowing some German is a must. The space is quite intimate and the building dates back to the fourteenth century. Most of the cartoons are political and deal with current social issues. Many are quite irreverent. Quite a few - especially in the permanent exhibition - are associated with representatives of the so-called New Frankfurt School. The place might not be particularly exciting to very young children. It is definitely one of the museums to visit when you are in town.
