★★★★★4 years agoNice museum in the Grand Canal area, which was a place to trade all the Hangzhou handcrafts like fans, umbrellas, silk clothes, etc. Museum is not big, but very informative. However, if you can't read Chinese well, it might be troublesome for you to understand. Not everything is translated to English, or better to say, only the names are translated to English, but not the description. But you can get the common sense, of course. This museum helps you to understand better the history, manufacture process, kinds of umbrellas in ancient China and current situation of umbrella manufacturing. In general, free, informative, worth-visiting.

★★★★★8 months agoFrom my point of view, this place was the point where art and crafts meet. The designs of the umbrellas found inside were simply beautiful. It shows how umbrellas were created and sold in the historical background. I loved the details put here. It is a beautiful place to visit.
