The pagoda itself is beautifully rebuilt, combining traditional architecture with a modern interior that makes it easy to explore. You can take the elevator up and then walk around the different levels. Along the way, there are displays and carvings that tell the famous Legend of the White Snake, which adds a nice cultural touch to the visit. The highlight is definitely the view from the top—you get a stunning panoramic view of West Lake, especially during sunset when the sky and water change colors. It’s one of the best spots in Hangzhou for photos. At night, the pagoda is lit up and looks even more impressive from a distance, creating a very romantic and classic Chinese scenery. I believe seniors can access for free. There is an escalator taking you to the entrance of the pagoda where you can either take the stairs which is not that bad or take the lift but there are always very long queues.
