★★★★★a month agoAmazing national museum located in 18th century palatial townhouse in Marylebone 🤩 Has world-famous collections of fine and decorative arts accumulated by the first four Marquesses of Hertford and Sir Richard Wallace. This includes French art such as furniture, porcelain from Old Masters and paintings by Rembrandt, Titian, Velázquez, Canaletto. Then they are Princely, European and Oriental Armour from medieval times to 19th century. Uniquely entire collection is still displayed in the domestic setting of its original family home, without any modern glass display or labels … so really makes you feel the atmosphere of a historic private residence. And there is also a nice cafe …

★★★★★2 months agoMy first visit to the Wallace Collection near Mayfair and I was thoroughly impressed. I don't know much about its history, but it was immediately clear that this is an exceptionally well-curated gallery. Every room is beautifully designed and thoughtfully arranged, with an outstanding collection of paintings, furniture, armor, and decorative arts. I especially enjoyed seeing the Winston Churchill paintings and having light lunch in the lovely courtyard café. The museum feels elegant, intimate, and never overwhelming. Every room offers something special. One of the most beautiful and well-organized galleries in London. Absolutely worth a visit and I will definitely return.
