★★★★★2 weeks agoOff the beaten duomi square but should be right front and centre. It is awesome. To look at. It's behind a tut souvenir stall but it is is very brilliant. A gem.

★★★★★2 years agoIn the Middle Ages, Piazza Mercanti was the most important square in the city, and today it still exists between two large and modern main squares (Duomo and Cordusio), offering an atmosphere where you can suddenly step into a medieval ambiance. When we visited, there wasn't a heavy pedestrian flow in the square, and we felt like we had stepped out of the hustle and bustle of the city. We spent peaceful time exploring the architecture of the buildings surrounding the square, which date back to the 13th and 14th centuries.
