A delightfully well-presented museum on the site of a 400K year old encampment of human ancestors, from right around the discovery of the uses of fire. It’s very clearly presented, and there is a QR code for an app, allowing one to view the placards, etc. in one’s native tongue. Well worth the short trek out to the harbour area.

The reception was very helpful and explained that, as a Nice resident, I have free access to the city’s museums and gave me a useful map. Terra Amata was the first museum I visited, and it’s a great start: an interesting exhibition on prehistory, with life by the sea well presented. Worth a visit!
