The photography museum is always a perfect place to find inspiration. At the moment (January 2026) an exhibition of black-and-white photographs by Michael Kenna can be seen. A huge recommendation is to buy the €15 pass, which covers admission to 10 museums, including the photography museum.

Gorgeous little museum located near the markets in Old Nice. The exhibition we were lucky to see was by English photographer Michael Kenna. His ethereal black and white landscapes (mostly taken by long exposure at night) at intriguing places all over the world, were well worth the entrance fee. We really enjoyed the documentary (in English with French subtitles) and were delighted to find in the collection, a photograph of the famous Wanaka tree. We too have travelled to NZ to capture that tree. Though not as well. Next tine we are in Nice, we will visit again in the hop we discover yet another wonderful photographer and his/her connection to the world around us.
