★★★★★a year agoVery cool local history museum opened by a wealthy local family in the building of their centrally located hotel, first in Phuket town, that unfortunately did not survive Covid. Very extensive collection of local history artifacts and other exhibits carefully collected with love by few family generations.

★★★★★2 years agoThe Thavorn Hotel itself is sadly closed, but there is a chic coffee shop serving fantastic coffee and delicious pastries. The coffee shop is also the entrance to the Thavorn Museum, which is worth a quick visit if you're interested in history, 1960's decor, memorabilia, architectural details & curios. THB 120 entrance fee. There's an extensive display of artifacts covering everything from the hotel's history, tin mining, farming and lifestyle. We really enjoyed it.
