After 10 years of living in Prague I finally went up to the tower. Truly enjoyed it. I recommend to go between 9-10 am when less people and you can get 50% discount for a ticket.

The Powder Tower, is one of the most striking Gothic landmarks in Prague and once formed part of the old fortification system that protected the entrance to the Old Town. It is one of the few surviving medieval towers and originally served as a ceremonial gateway for Bohemian kings on their coronation route. Today, it stands as a powerful reminder of the city’s medieval past. The tower is located right next to the Municipal House and close to a large shopping area, making it very easy to visit. Its height and dark Gothic architecture make it truly impressive when you see it up close. Before entering the Old Town, it feels like you’re walking through a piece of history.
