★★★★★4 months agospatial and historical experience in Rome. The Nero's Domus Aurea is one of Rome's most astonishing monumental forum/imperial area and palace. I was left dumbfounded when I walked across the various spaces and through the immense corridors. Unfortunately, only the Trajan's hall area is accessible to the public, but no worries! You get to see the Octagonal Room (Sala ottagonale) at the end of the path. My favorite hall was the "Achilles at Skyros" Room. Tickets are not free, even for residents in the capital. Buy tickets in advance. Kids till 18y don't pay. There's a discount for over 60y people. Don't know about extra discounts for special events such as birthdays.
