★★★★★5 months agoThis place was absolutely beautiful and so huge. The amount of gold here is very impressive. It was a gorgeous day to come visit and I was so blessed to be here while they were having service. The chorus was so good and it gave me such peace while walking through. Lateran Obelisk, which is the tallest ancient Egyptian obelisk in the world, standing at 32.18 meters (105.6 feet) tall and originally erected in Egypt around the 15th century BC. It was outside the Basilica, but so worth the walk around the corner. It was really cool to see this place and suggest going to view the grandeur.

When I enter the basilica, I was greeted by a long vertical hallway decorated with some impressive architecture and large statues. It was so cool to see the varies statues as I walk down the basilica to the main church section. The main highlight was the beautiful golden ceiling decorated with intricate carvings highlighting the opulence and grandeur of the basilica. Overall, highly recommend for a pitstop especially if you want to complete the 4 holy door pilgrimage!
