★★★★★a year agoThe Monument Enea by Ugo Attardi is an interesting and unique sculpture located in Valletta. Unlike many of the historical monuments in the city, this one has a modern and artistic design, making it stand out. Created by Italian artist Ugo Attardi, it represents Aeneas, a figure from Roman mythology who, according to legend, played a role in the founding of Rome. The monument is full of movement and energy, showing Aeneas and his companions on their journey. It’s a great contrast to the more classical statues and buildings around Valletta. If you enjoy art and mythology, you’ll definitely find it fascinating. It’s located in a public space, so entry is completely free. Whether you’re walking around Valletta or exploring the nearby attractions, it’s worth stopping for a quick look and a photo!

★★★★★3 years agoThe statue of Aeneas was symbolically placed at the entrance to the port of Valletta. Made by the master Ugo Attardi (1923-2006), a Genoese artist at 360 degrees because he is a painter, sculptor, but also a graphic designer, designer and writer, it is a large bronze casting. More than two and a half meters high, it represents the mythical Virgilian figure of Aeneas with tense muscles and open arms. Aeneas, one of the great traveling heroes of the ancient epic. After his escape from the burning city of Troy, he traveled the Mediterranean from East to West before reaching Lazio. The statue donated by the Dante Alighieri Society - an Italian cultural institution present on the island for many years - is a tribute to Malta. Open to the European peoples and in particular to the Italian one. A relationship with Italy that is not only symbolic. This statue, in fact, has a twin copy of it located in Fiumicino, not far from Rome. .
