★★★★★3 months agoA beautiful welcome to the new capital of Malta. It stands only metres away from the historic gate, entrance to the historic, lively and beautiful city. As you reach the gates there are superb views of the old walls surrounding the city. When you enter the city, turn right up to the upper Barrakka Gardens where you can visit the first building erected in Valetta, and see views across the city to the port. Then back down and explore the lively streets, the beautiful Cathedrals or sit in a cafe soaking up the atmosphere. The fountain and gates are very close to the bus station too - not far to walk.
