★★★★★2 months agoAn absolute highlight of my time in Vienna. I expected the Freud Museum to be interesting, but I didn’t expect it to be so thought-provoking, moving, and beautifully curated. The exhibits place Freud and psychoanalysis within their broader historical, cultural, and political context in a way that makes the experience fascinating even beyond psychology. If you have the chance, I highly recommend the Sunday 2 pm English guided tour. I chose it almost by chance, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. Our guide, Aaron, was exceptional. He wove together history, philosophy, psychology, religion, politics, and psychoanalysis with remarkable depth, clarity, and enthusiasm. His ability to connect Freud’s ideas to broader human and social questions made the museum come alive. I left with pages of notes, new questions, and the feeling that I could have listened for another two hours. Whether you are a psychologist, psychotherapist, philosopher, historian, student, or simply curious about the human condition, I highly recommend taking the guided tour. It transforms the museum from a collection of artifacts into a living conversation. One of the highlights not only of my time in Vienna, but of my travels.

★★★★★7 months agoMust go area for psychology enthusiasts. I enjoyed every moment here. Being able to take a visit to Freud’s home is hugely enjoyable. To see how the patient waiting wound looks, his signature glasses, how the bat looks like for dream interpretation and for association, and many more Freud’s daily necessities like brushes, cigar box… etc. Also watched a documentary about Freud and his family and realised how much of them including Freud lying on a couch lol. At the end of the visit, I went to the gift shop and bought some creative souvenirs there, and more importantly, books that I find interesting to read about.
