★★★★★3 months agoHidden gem, must see. There is a small entrance fee but it's so much more than just an Alpine garden. It's a beautiful, tranquil place that is absolutely full of amazing flowers including a very extensive bonsai collection

★★★★★8 months agoLocated within the Belvedere Palace complex, this specialized alpine botanical garden was founded in 1803 and is considered one of the oldest alpine gardens in Europe. It houses more than 2,500 species of alpine and high-mountain plants, focusing on flora from the Alps and other mountainous regions. The garden is open seasonally from April to October and is operated by the Natural History Museum of Vienna (NHM Wien), with a strong emphasis on the conservation of endangered plant species. Note: It is separate from the Botanical Garden of the University of Vienna.
