I recommend 2.5 to 3 hours to fully cover this extensive collection of Greek and Cyprian artefacts. It is brilliantly covered with English and Greek explanations and the range of artefacts is extensive. Google Maps provides correct information for public transport Access using train bus and walking.

I visited the Jeff Koons exhibition with his Balloon Venus of Laspugue and the interaction with various paleolithic statuettes. Very impressive work, not only Koons's sculpture, but the whole exhibition and the way the museum has arranged it. I hugely recommend this exhibition, but also the permanent collections of the museum of course, which shed light into a very important civilisation. A gem of a museum in downtown Athens.
