★★★★★a month agoAbsolutely amazing! A sight worth paying for and going out of your way to visit. The architecture was astonishing! I recommend buying tickets online, you need to use an American Express card to do so but well worth it to get tickets beforehand. When you get there, the entrance is in the back. We scheduled our visit for 4:30pm and were able to get in around 4pm. We went through metal detectors and they checked our purses. You can be there as long as you want, no one kicks you out. 4:30pm in May was a good time to visit to see the red stained glass lit up by the sun.

★★★★★a month agoMake sure to reserve your ticket at least three weeks in advance. Otherwise, you may have to buy a secondhand ticket like I did, which cost almost twice as much. That said, this is absolutely a MUST-GO and the reason why you're in Barcelona. Just know that the theme of the cathedral is a forest, and once you step inside, you can genuinely feel it. The columns and light make it feel as though you are standing beneath a canopy of trees. It is hard to put into words how someone could design such a masterpiece, and how beautifully that vision has been carried out in the building itself.
