★★★★★Edited 6 months agoBeautiful Victorian gardens with magnificent trees, water features and ornamental bridges; an oasis of calm not far from the city centre. The gardens are very well kept, with good paths and benches to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Wonderful on my first visit in October when the autumn colours were at their finest, and just as lovely in May with plenty of spring flowers and roses blooming. The Great Dell, a repurposed former quarry with a wooded trail, is worth a quick look while visiting. A café and toilet facilities are located outside the gardens in Royal Victoria Park.
