I really like this park. First visited in 2007 while at the paleontology institute up the road on internship, and several years later would jog here from Renmin University up the road. A much welcomed break from the intensity of the city, with numerous scenic spots. Great place to draw in the spring. Plus it's free. Whenever the family goes back to Beijing, we swing by here and then hit up restaurants behind Minzu University.

Zizhuyuan is located in Haidian District. Compared with other parks in Beijing, Zizhuyuan is not very big, but it is very comfortable and suitable for walking. The park is also open until 9 or 10 pm, so you can come here for a walk after get off work. During the day, you can also see many elderly people practicing violin, flute, etc. They are singing, and dancing. It is really a heaven for elderly people.
