There are also four octagonal pavilions connected by the corridor, each one with a theme and more elaborate artwork (don't miss the ceilings). Worth taking a stroll through.

It's worldwide known as being the longest of its kind in order to protect royalty from walking in the extreme cold during winter or summer heat. Apart of that it's famous for over 14.000 painted pictures from Chinese history, books and legends. It's a remarkable piece of art included in every Summer palace visiting itinerary and really a must see
