The Olympic park complex is located in the northern part of the city exclusively built for hosting the 2008 Beijing Olympics. At those times, 18 years ago it was out of this world architecture which became world famous in no time, and it still kept that status until today. You can easily reach it by metro from downtown. Beware, the area is huge so there's a lot of walking involved. Unmissable sites are the Bird's Nest National stadium, as well the Water Cube water sports complex across it. Apart from that there's an Olympic museum, Olympic towers and many others small venues to visit. Plan around 2-3 hours for your visit

Beijing Olympic stadium in the form of a birds nest is an architecturally a beautiful structure. Thidnwas built in 2008 Olympics but stull well maintained. The whole structure with the lighting looks stunning in the night. There are also a lot of sports venues there. It is a nice place to walk around in the day as well as night
