★★★★★8 months agoThis is not just a museum, but a home to the Berlin Goddess, a testament to the city's rich cultural heritage. The museum's collection is a treasure trove of ancient European artifacts, showcasing the region's history, art, and culture in exquisite detail. The first thing that caught my attention was the impressive collection of sculptures on display. The level of craftsmanship and artistry that has gone into creating these masterpieces is truly awe-inspiring. The sculptures are not only beautiful but also demonstrate a profound understanding of human anatomy, which is a testament to the advanced knowledge of the ancient world. The attention to detail and the precision with which the sculptures have been crafted are a wonder to behold. The pottery collection, in particular, is noteworthy, with pieces that are remarkably well-preserved and showcase the ingenuity and creativity of ancient craftsmen. The shapes, designs, and patterns that adorn these pottery pieces are a window into the past, offering a glimpse into the daily lives and traditions of ancient civilizations. What impresses me most about the Altes Museum is the way it seamlessly weaves together the threads of history, culture, and art to create a rich tapestry that is both informative and engaging. The museum's curators have done an outstanding job of selecting and presenting the artifacts in a way that is both accessible and meaningful to visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Throughout my visit, I was struck by the sense of wonder and curiosity that the museum inspires. The Berlin Goddess, which is the centerpiece of the museum, is a powerful symbol of the city's cultural heritage, and the artifacts that surround her are a testament to the enduring legacy of ancient European culture.

★★★★★4 months agoA most impressive collection of ancient artifacts. Most of them are replicas, so it’s safe. I’m glad they are well preserved and displayed. It’s just sad to see what war and greed does to our legacy and heritage. It’s sad to see these pieces stolen from their places of origin and displayed for the profit of whoever benefits, even if tourists have access and are exposed to these cultures. I had a good time exploring and wondering at the vast stretch of time and land conquered and fought over again and again. Seeing the evolution of technology and art through the ages. I recommend it, it’s def worth with the museum pass or welcome card.
