★★★★★4 years agoThis is a very good museum on the history of sailing and ships. The 3 floors are laid out in chronological order from early prehistoric time, to Phoenicians to modern aircraft carriers. The pieces also are explained in English, which is very helpful to tourists. The history of the Bordeaux port is well done and the very many model ships was amazing. Particularly interesting we’re the ships from 1600s and 1700s. Also interesting was Napoleon’s funeral ship. The history is rich and well displayed. The staff are very helpful and we thought it made for an educational afternoon. We recommend you take the time to see this museum.
