“Wow. This restaurant was a recommendation from our hotel staff and a bit of a last minute choice. We were looking for a quieter romantic spot and this was perfect. It is expensive but 100% worth it. The wine was amazing, every course was perfect and the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic. The outdoor heated bar is a fantastic venue for a drink after dinner. The location is really impressive. I would recommend a later booking for a relaxed experience.”

“Really quaint spot to just take in the scenery, stroll around and enjoy all the Bruges really is. My two small children were thrilled to watch the water and birds, but disappointed they couldn't play in the grass. My husband and I were thrilled to have a bench to sit on and people watch. A lovely spot.”

“My wife and I took the Bruges bike tour with our host Godfried and about 10 other riders. I really liked the locations that we went on the tour. It was a good combination of the famous city center landmarks and some further-out, less-visited places. We actually traveled quite a ways, but it's an easy ride as the terrain is flat and the city is not too busy (i.e., not many cars, mostly pedestrian traffic). Godfried was very friendly, warm, and knowledgeable about Bruges. You could see how he enjoyed telling us about the history of the city. His voice is kind of soft, however, so it was a little difficult to hear him at times in the busier spots. I would highly recommend this bike tour early in your visit to Bruges to orient yourself and learn about some of the spots in the city that you can visit in more depth later. Note that starting and ending point of the tour is a bit north of the city center. Our hotel was actually quite close to it, so that was easy and convenient. It is not near the train station, however.”

“The tower was built in late 14th century as a defensive structure. There used to be a smaller second tower at the opposite side of the bridge, and together they formed the Water Gate. There's also a garden at the bottom of the tower, overlooking the river.”
