Totally worth the trip walking ALLLLL the way up the hill to get here. Our guide was very knowledgeable if lacking in enthusiasm, understandable if you have to deliver the same speech dozens of times per week. Views of the city were unbeatable, the castle's history was cool too.

Edinburgh Castle is a must visit and a highlight of our trip to Scotland. We visited in September while staying with family in Glasgow, and it was a great experience for the whole family. The kids loved it, and our in-laws and siblings really enjoyed exploring together. The views over the city are stunning, and the history is fascinating, especially the Scottish Crown Jewels. Watching the 1pm cannon shot was an amazing and memorable moment for all of us. It was so busy, but there were lots of activites happening outside of the castle and it’s well worth the visit.
