An amazing trip today on the Funchal Cable Car. We boarded at the Old Town and took us up to Monte. The ride was smooth and the car was not crowded - just 6 of us - plenty to see and hear. Very calming and enjoyable. Monte was lush and green and the tropical gardens were a sight. Would definitely recommend.

Well worth it. The views on a clear day are amazing. You can pay extra for a glass bottom car if you are ok with the heights! Takes about 15 mins. Visited late evening and there was no queue. No need to pre purchase tickets. The car come about every minute or so , if there is a queue it will move quickly.
