★★★★★8 months agoWhat a lovely visit. It's not just the historic buildings and remains but the exhibition. A very nice display of material recording the 'romantic visitors' in the 19th century. It's always interesting to be reminded that tourism isn't a modern phenomenon.

★★★★★2 months agoI was staying a few metres away in the Hotel Carlos V and I kept seeing this place from my balcony and wondering what it was. So, one early evening after a full day of walking around the big ticket tourist places, I wandered over for what turned out to be an enjoyable archeological and artistic experience. I gather it's free entry some days but I had to pay a whole 2 euros. The pre-Alhambra Nasrid Palace that we walk over is fascinatiing. So is the theme in the gallery of Alhambra as described during the Romantic period (tourism to Alhambra is certainly not new). The manuscripts, drawings, paintings and multimedia displays were really interesting. There were maybe 5 people there so this is an easy-going little gem tucked away outside the main tourist centers. I wouldn't make a huge effort to get to this one but if you have some time and you're nearby, it's a fun diversion.
