★★★★★a month agoReally nice Triumphal Arch! I give it 5/5 mainly because of its fascinating history. Built in 1765 under Empress Maria Theresa, this monument has a split personality: one side celebrates a royal wedding, while the other side quietly honours the death of an emperor. It’s quite unique to have both joy and mourning carved into the same stone. Standing at the southern end of Maria-Theresien-Straße, it feels like a historic pause with the Alps in the background. In my opinion, it could be better lighted at night to highlight the beautiful details even more. Definitely worth seeing if you’re walking through the city centre!

★★★★★4 weeks agoA must-see in Innsbruck. A fascinating story of the arch featuring two stories: a wedding and a funeral in one.
