Love the Bridgewater canal, it's a regular walk for my self and my wife, we normally follow the old roe green railway line and then get onto the canal at monton and follow it towards Leigh. Lots of pubs and eateries along it so plenty of stops for food and booze

A peaceful and well-kept stretch of the Bridgewater Canal, perfect for a walk or cycle. Worsley’s part of the canal is scenic, with tree-lined paths, red-brick bridges, and the iconic Worsley Packet House and orange-tinged water giving it character. You can follow the path towards Monton or head towards Boothstown, with plenty of benches along the way. It’s mostly flat and suitable for prams, bikes, and dogs. Good mix of open stretches and shaded areas. There are cafes and pubs nearby if you start or finish in Worsley village. Early mornings or weekday afternoons are quietest. A solid local route for fresh air without needing to leave Greater Manchester.
