★★★★★3 months agoA visit to Castel Sant'Elmo is an absolute must on any trip to Naples. The climb or drive with the Funicolare is rewarded with a spectacular panoramic view: from up here, you can see the whole city, the harbour and, of course, the majestic Mount Vesuvius in all its glory. The fortress itself is impressively large and offers a wonderful, historic atmosphere. It is particularly lovely to walk along the top of the massive walls and observe the city from a bird’s-eye view. A perfect spot for photos and to take a breather above the hustle and bustle of the city. Highly recommended, ideally just before sunset!
