Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rome. A small recommendation for visitors, especially tourists from abroad: when visiting historic churches like this, it is respectful for men to wear long trousers and to avoid speaking loudly inside, as many people come here to pray and reflect in silence. Women, especially during the summer months, may also wish to bring a light scarf or shawl to cover their shoulders when entering the church.

We visited on a Monday evening, and it was relatively quiet, which made the experience even more meaningful. If you want a peaceful moment to soak in some of the city's oldest gold mosaics without the crowds, an evening visit is highly recommended. It was a wonderdul way to begin our trip.
