One of the most beautiful and historic churches in Rome. Its stunning golden mosaics, peaceful atmosphere, and charming location in Trastevere make it a must-visit place. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rome. A small recommendation for visitors, especially tourists from abroad: when visiting historic churches like this, it is respectful for men to wear long trousers and to avoid speaking loudly inside, as many people come here to pray and reflect in silence. Women, especially during the summer months, may also wish to bring a light scarf or shawl to cover their shoulders when entering the church.

This was the very first "sight" we visited in Rome, and it was a beautiful space to step into. We visited on a Monday evening, and it was relatively quiet, which made the experience even more meaningful. It provided an amazing first glimpse into the magnificent history Rome has to offer, especially regarding the deep heritage of the Church. If you want a peaceful moment to soak in some of the city's oldest gold mosaics without the crowds, an evening visit is highly recommended. It was a wonderdul way to begin our trip.
