As a fan of The Sound of Music, visiting this abbey was on my to-do list. Though the walk uphill is a bit of a climb, it is absolutely worth the effort. I was lucky enough to visit on a quiet day with very few people around, which made for a peaceful, intimate atmosphere both inside the chapel and throughout the grounds. Because the abbey sits on a hill, it provides a fantastic bird's-eye view of the city.

Quiet a good walk to reach to the Abbey, but it’s worth it. If you are a fan of The sound of Music, you will know this place where Maria walks out and ventures towards her journey to the Von Trappe family. It’s free and a peaceful place to visit.
