It’s a modern/contemporary architecture amidst mostly Baroque edifices of Salzburg. Initially constructed in 1925, it was the home of the city’s festival and became known as Festspielhaus. It underwent a series of reconstruction/renovation/expansion. The present building came after WWII. Upon the 250th anniversary of Mozart in 2006, the city renamed it Haus für Mozart. Reputedly know for its modern stage and outstanding acoustics, the Haus has become a major venue for concerts, especially dedicated to opera performances.

Attended a concert at Haus für Mozart in August 2025 and it was an amazing experience. The acoustics are perfect, and it felt very intimate. I also really appreciated the central location in the city center, and it was just a short walk from popular sites like Mozart's Birthplace. What made it special was that every seat seemed to have a great view. Definitely recommend for a performance
