★★★★★a month agoBukhansan is the tallest mountain in the Seoul region. The highest peak, Baegundae, is a very popular hike amongst locals and weekends should be avoided. Good hiking shoes with good grip is highly recommended. You can also borrow boots and hiking poles free of charge at the Bukhansan Ui Ranger Station if you start your hike between 0900-1200.

★★★★★6 months agoSimply a must if you're in Seoul and you're a hiker! I've been around 4 times now, in different seasons, and loved it every time. In winter, I recommend starting from Bukhansanseong, as the trails are less icy on that side of the mountain. I went up to Baekundae and down on the other side (towards Ui-dong) within 3.5-4h round trip. Crampers are advisable (I would say: required) on the east side of the mountain.
