Kuo Yuan Ye Museum was a great experience for three generations of our family! Grandma, grandkids, myself and my sister-in-law all enjoyed our time learning how to make pineapple cakes, and learning about the history of it. Since we had a large group, I booked our time slot online by emailing them in English. They responded promptly to confirm the day and time. The museum is an easy walk from Shilin metro station, and along the way there are some good souvenir shops and eating opportunities. At the museum, once checked in, we waited a bit before going into the room to make the pastries. Instructions were in both Mandarin and English, and it was easy to follow along. You do all the pastry making yourself up to the part where they take the tray to the oven to bake. The kids enjoyed the hands-on experience, and the stamps you use to identity which pastries belongs to who is a nice touch to personalize each person’s work. During the baking time. you are led to another floor where they have a museum to teach you about their history. You also can dress up to take your own photos. When the pastries are done in the oven, they take you back into the kitchen area to wrap and package your pastries. Overall the class was easy to follow along and it was a good experience. The facility can use an update, but other than that it was a great memory our family wlll have together.

Great cooking and cultural experience for our family with 2 kids (ages 6 and 10). Instructors were good and efficient. We arrived 10 minutes before start and the waiting room had some fun activities and games. After cooking and visited the small museum, they provided tea and small cakes. Overall recommend!
