I really short of time and didn’t get a chance to go and visit the museum. However the view from the outside is beautiful. There is a garden behind the palace where you can sit and relax and get some shade. Seems like a place that local families come and gather. Definitely worth walking around the grounds

Heldenplatz opened the Hofburg to the city, and Neue Burg became its great curved stone edge: the realised portion of a Kaiserforum meant to gather palace, court and monarchy into one vast imperial composition, but never completed as planned. That leaves a strange result - a façade with the scale of a finished answer and the history of an unfinished project. Today the same shell holds museums and the Austrian National Library’s Heldenplatz reading rooms.
