The largest fountain in Schönbrunn Palace’s gardens. Between this and the Obelisk fountain, it's tough to pick out a favorite. If it was for the view of the palace alone, I'd say Neptune one would win. The fountain’s sees Neptune, god of the sea, rising with his trident, accompanied by nereids, tritons, and sea horses. It's quite a beauty to behold, even in wintertime when the spring isn't functional.

Neptunbrunnen is a truly impressive and beautiful fountain that perfectly complements the grandeur of Schönbrunn Palace. The sculpture of Neptune and the surrounding figures are full of detail and give the whole place a sense of power and elegance. The atmosphere around the fountain is especially enjoyable, with a wide open space and a great view towards the Gloriette. It’s an ideal spot to pause, take photos, and simply appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. Definitely one of the highlights of a visit to Schönbrunn.
