A hidden gem in central Beijing, not as big or as popular as the Palace Museum or the National Museum, but still big enough to wander around for half a day. I highly recommend getting an audio guide for those who aren't native to China otherwise you're going to miss out on the rich history of the exhibits. When I went there was a special exhibit on the Maya which was quite fun although slightly off topic. I went on a Friday so there were zero crowds.

This should be the first place to visit in Beijing. I loves how the flow of China histories display from floor1 to floor4. Followed by culture, tradition and opera displays. Entrance is free. For foreigner, remember to bring passport as it's the only requirement to scan during entry.
