★★★★★5 months agoVisiting Matthias Church was one of the most memorable stops during our time in Budapest. Sitting beautifully on the castle hill right next to Fisherman’s Bastion, the church immediately stands out with its unique architecture and colorful tiled roof. The patterned tiles on the outside are stunning and make the church look almost like a piece of art against the skyline. The location itself adds to the charm. Being part of the historic Buda Castle District, the entire area feels straight out of a postcard with cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and incredible viewpoints of the city. Step inside the church and the beauty continues. The interior is filled with intricate frescoes, detailed paintings, and vibrant patterns covering the walls and ceilings. Every corner seems thoughtfully decorated, and you can easily spend time just looking up and appreciating the artistry and craftsmanship. One of the highlights is climbing the tower, which offers stunning panoramic views of Budapest. From the top, you get a fantastic perspective of the Danube, the Parliament building in the distance, and the rooftops of the city. Overall, Matthias Church is much more than just a historic site. It’s a place where architecture, art, and history come together beautifully. Whether you’re interested in history, photography, or simply exploring beautiful places, this church is definitely worth visiting when you’re in Budapest.

★★★★★a month agoThis church inside of the Buda castle is one of the mini impressive buildings that hold historical significance in beauty. Given its location near other antique buildings and the fisherman Sebastian it is very much worth the visit. I’d recommended coming at night when the crowds are far less
