Although it can be difficult to find, this museum is well worth the search. It is hard to imagine just how beautiful it is until you step inside. The light is spectacular, the ceilings soar overhead, and magnificent works of art are displayed throughout the space. One of the highlights is the opportunity to see the Baptistery’s extraordinary doors up close. Their remarkable detail can only be fully appreciated from such a short distance. The museum is not overly crowded, so you can take your time and examine them properly. The sculptures throughout the museum are equally beautiful. Do not skip this museum—you will be glad you visited.

Highly recommend visiting the museum. You can see the original statues on the cathedral before medici renovated it, and compare the difference in style before and after the renaissance. Very interesting! The interior was quite neat and spacious. Gates of paradise was astounding to see too. Also make sure to look at donetello’s david and michelagelo’s deposition. I loved the miniature model of the duomo.
