★★★★★3 months agoLoggia dei Lanzi or Loggia dei Signoria is the most beautiful and art-history-rich open air gallery in the world. Set on the corner of Piazza dei Signoria and featuring beautiful artwork like my favorite Berninis' The kidnapping of Proserpina, similarly stunning and interesting Rape of Polyxena, Benvenuto Cellini's Perseus with the Head of Medusa and the others. So much symbolic and emotional sculptures can take hours to admire. Each sculpture comes with an interesting myth behind it. It would be impossible to leave this place if it weren't for other fascinating things around it. Part of Uffici gallery that is free and serves as a perfect preview of what you can admire inside the gallery.

★★★★★a month agoNice free attraction. This section showcases some of the best sculptures. Each of them with high level of detailing and there is also a board explaining the story behind each and every sculpture. For the first time in my life, I saw sculptures of women getting raped by men. From an art perspective, this was a challenging thing to do for a sculpture artist.
